Fårö is home to some of Gotland’s finest beaches. Sudersand is one of the most popular, known for its white sand dunes and clear waters. Other beautiful beaches include Ekeviken and Norsta Aurar, offering peace and relaxation in a picturesque setting.
Fårö is also famous for its impressive rauks, natural stone formations created by erosion. The most well-known rauks are located at Digerhuvud, Langhammars, and Gamla hamn. These places offer fantastic photo opportunities and a unique natural experience.

Tips for Your Stay on Fårö
Book in Advance: During the summer months and for special events like the Bergman Week, accommodations on Fårö can get fully booked quickly. It’s best to book in advance to secure your spot.
Kitchen and Food: During the high season, there is a good selection of restaurants and cafés on Fårö. Many hostels have shared kitchens where guests can prepare their own meals. There is a great ICA store (Nyströms) on the island, but when many people are on the island the selection may be limited so you can shop at ICA Bungehallen in Fårösund before taking the ferry to Fårö.
Transport: Fårö is easiest to explore by bike or car. Several rental services offer bikes, which is a popular way to get around and see the island’s attractions.
